Account and career information

Ping stores your sign-in identifier and email, your confirmed career background and search preferences, your matches, and your saved, dismissed and applied status. Confirmed briefs are versioned so a match can be explained against the information used at the time.

If you save an applicant profile, Ping also stores the CV details and optional photo you choose to include. This profile is separate from your matching background. Do not include information you do not want processed for these features.

Why we process this information

We use the account, brief, matching and saved-profile information needed to provide the features you request under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Optional job-alert email uses your consent under Article 6(1)(a); withdraw it in Preferences or through an alert’s unsubscribe link. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Security, fraud prevention and reliable delivery use our legitimate interests in protecting accounts and operating the service under Article 6(1)(f). Records required by applicable tax or accounting obligations use Article 6(1)(c). A sign-in email is needed for an account, and a confirmed career brief is needed for matching. A saved CV, photo and email alerts are optional.

Ping recommends roles to you. It does not make an employer’s recruitment decision or submit your application.

Matching and AI drafting

Matching sends your stated career background, desired work and relevant preferences with an employer posting to Jev through Cloudflare AI Gateway. The result supplies judgments; Ping’s policy determines which opportunities are shown and which may qualify for email.

When you choose AI tailoring, Jev assesses the relevance of your supplied CV facts and checks proposed wording. A Qwen model accessed through Cloudflare drafts wording from those facts. Structured contact fields, dates, education, languages, photos and styling are omitted from the tailoring model requests. Text you write in your bio or experience may still contain personal information.

Tailoring requests disable gateway caching and log collection. Model providers and infrastructure services also process requests under their own service arrangements. AI suggestions may be wrong; review your CV before using it.

Services involved

• WorkOS provides sign-in and manages your sign-in identity and session.
• Cloudflare hosts the application, processes background work and AI requests, and provides job-alert email delivery when enabled.
• Neon stores account data, saved profiles, preferences, matches and operational records.
• Polar handles checkout and billing. Ping keeps the customer and subscription references needed to determine access; payment-provider records are held separately.

Employer links open external websites with their own privacy practices. Ping does not submit a job application on your behalf.

Information on this browser

Sign-in uses a session cookie. Your theme preference and application drafts use browser storage. Individual job CVs and any older browser-only base CV stay on this browser. Unfinished brief edits use this tab’s session storage. When Preferences opens, drafts more than a day old are removed instead of offered for restoration. Clear drafts in Account or your browser settings to remove them sooner.

Signing out, clearing browser drafts in Account, or an accepted account-deletion request removes this account’s local drafts from the current browser. Other browsers and downloaded PDFs must be cleared separately. A reset marker without CV content remains so an already-open editor cannot silently restore cleared drafts.

PDF generation happens in your browser. Downloading a PDF does not upload the CV for PDF generation.

Email, billing and operational records

Job alerts require your choice in Preferences. Delivery records include recipient information, delivery status and provider receipts so Ping can avoid duplicates and suppress further mail after a hard bounce or complaint.

The retention worker is designed to redact eligible operational webhook payloads and terminal email content after 30 days. Cleanup is processed in batches and depends on the worker being enabled and healthy; this is not a promise that all data is deleted on day 30. Minimal delivery and deduplication records remain until account deletion.

Confirmed briefs, profile data and account history remain available for the account until removed through the account-deletion process. Payment-provider records and backups are managed separately. Contact us for retention information or help with a data request.

Your controls

Update your brief and email choice in Preferences. Download account data, manage billing and clear local browser drafts in Account. Clearing browser drafts does not delete your saved account profile or cancel a subscription.

The account-deletion control stops scouting immediately after the request is accepted, then coordinates removal of local account rows and the WorkOS identity. Resolve any displayed billing or provider issue before retrying. Payment-provider records, backups, downloaded files and copies in other browsers are separate.

Your data-protection rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability of your personal information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time. Contact the operator below; the availability of a self-service control does not limit these rights.

You can lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority, including the LfDI Baden-Württemberg or the authority where you live or work.
